I think therefore I am?The brakes hissed as the shuttle-train slowed to a stop at the platform. Jonathon was alone as he entered one of the carriages and sat down. Inside it was deserted except for a robot that looked out of the window with the characteristic fixed and unflinching stare of its kind.
Jonathon wrapped his coat tighter around him and sighed despondently as the seat moulded itself to his behind. The shuttle-train whirred as it accelerated out of the station. The holostrip flickered above his head, advertising new cars and the latest clothing fashions. It hadn't been updated in a while; the strip showed the Jaguar ZG4 in circling three dimensions. It had been designed with the brief that the interior would be the most aesthetically pleasing sight known to man. Each car was tailor-made for the owner. The car had been recalled after a series of crashes caused by drivers concentrating too much on the dashboard instead of the road. People literally couldn't keep their eyes off it.

"It's absolutely fantastic Professor! The body is complete; in perfect condition!"
The archaeologist gesticulated enthusiastically with his free hand, as he paced as far as the cord of the satellite phone would allow. He moved around as if filled with more energy than it could cope with, and sought to expel it in any kind of gesture or bodily movement.
"Yes Professor, there is a stone tablet with the body, but it's in one of the less common languages of this race, we can't translate it.
"Absolutely, the pre-excavation diagnostics suggested that it was the last one, and we've just had the results from the skeleton to confirm it.
"When can you reach us?
"Three days!?! Fantastic Professor, I will anticipate your arrival with great readiness!
The archaeologist hastily planted the handset back in its socket, and pressed the 'End Call' button. He then marched out of the tent, and into the sunshine.
The archaeologist was leading the dig, on a largely uninh
The Revolutionary - Part IITHE DAY had passed by atop the trucks, in a slow moving blur of woodland and field, intersected by the occasional collection of run down houses. At one point they had passed by a group of burnt out 4x4's and jeeps. They all knew what had happened, but Comrade Izabela had insisted on berating them about the malicious Government.
Before they met their demise, the imported four-by-fours would have been in a conspicuous black with tinted windows; a red rag to a bull for any Revolutionary wishing to kill a Government official.
It was late afternoon, and Miles sat against one of the lorry wheels. The other Revolutionaries stood or sat in groups waiting for Comrade Izabela to return. Miles was alone. As soon as things had settled down when they'd stopped in the clearing, Lucas and Helan had sloped off together into the trees.
Such relationships between revolutionaries forbidden. Miles did not approve of them, and had voiced his feelings once. They had simply laughed him off and he had not men
Review: The Pin Seng HotelThe Pin Seng Hotel has an atmosphere second to no other temporary accommodation in the city of Georgetown, Malaysia. It provides a lodging experience that you are likely to suffer in few other places on Earth.
If one takes an interest in interpreting fortunes from tea leaves, one will be delighted to translate their fortune from the stains in the bed linen. There is a good choice of facilities – one can use either a western lavatory or the local plumbed in hole in the ground. But if one attends the lavatories after dark, be sure to take a torch. The luxury of an en-suite shower and sink comes with the room; though of course don't expect to change the water temperature. Cooling from the intense humidity ad heat is provided by a ceiling fan and a glassless window (you even get a curtain!), a grill and shutters are in place for protection.
For night-life, the hotel's location is unrivalled, as it fronts directly onto the infamous Love Lane, where one may easily find 'special' company shou
